Pemberton’s well recognized and relied upon veterinary hospital is seeking a full-time veterinary technologist to work within their small yet busy mixed animal practice. Ideally suited for a Registered Veterinary Technician who is passionate about the industry with a strong work ethic. ABOUT THE ROLE: > Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM with the potential for overtime. > Some flexibility in scheduling can be offered for a 4-day work week. > Wage in the range of $23 to $28 per hour depending on experience. > Medical/Dental plan after 6-months (full-time staff) – 100% employer paid. > Funding for annual licensing fees plus continuing education allowance each year. THE PERFECT CANDIDATE: > 1+ years’ experience in a busy clinic environment is preferred. > Must be a Registered Veterinary Technician or equivalent (out of country certification can be considered). > Some experience with large animals, primarily equine, is an asset. > Takes initiative and works both individually and as a part of the team. > Has strong organizational and computer skills and deliver superior customer service. > Confident and compassionate nature. > Works well independently and takes initiative to jump in where needed. > Able to work well under pressure and in a busy work environment. > Must be confident in animal handling. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: > Performing all aspects of patient handling and care including in hospital and on farm visits. > Preparing, delivering and monitoring anesthesia for surgical & dental procedures. > Collecting and preparing medical samples for in-house or external laboratory testing. > Administering medication, monitoring animals during surgery and after. > Taking diagnostic radiographs of both small & large animals. > Maintaining an organized & clean workspace. > Preparing protocols and standard operating procedures (as directed) for in clinic use by other employees. The food travels just minutes to tables by using the freshest ingredients from their onsite geodesic dome greenhouse and gardens. You will have a unique opportunity to experience all aspects of the kitchen and truly develop your skills. The focus is on farm to table with sustainability always in the foreground. They even have their own worm farm! This position offers to foster your culinary creations while working close alongside the Chef. Spend your workdays surrounded by 20 forested acres of inspiration. ABOUT THE ROLE: > Approximately 32 hours per week.
